Overview

Kalsubai is one of the most popular treks in Maharashtra for a simple reason. It takes you to the highest point in the state.

The trek starts from Bari village and follows a well-marked trail through farms, grasslands and rocky sections. A series of iron ladders helps trekkers cross the steeper patches safely. The climb is steady throughout, but it does not require any technical skills. Most beginners with reasonable fitness can complete it comfortably.

The summit has a small temple dedicated to Goddess Kalsubai. On a clear day, you can see Bhandardara, Alang Madan Kulang, Ratangad, Harishchandragad and many other peaks of the Sahyadri range.

Monsoon brings lush green landscapes, flowing streams and clouds drifting across the mountain. Winter offers clear views and pleasant weather. Both seasons are excellent for this trek
